September 30, 2020 (COVID days)
It's the end of the month and our evening activities seems to quickly plunge
into darkness. But why would that stop a group of enthusiastic young men on a
mission. The pics may not be all that discernable, unless of course you
were there, and your brain provides the missing contexts.
There seems to be lots of prickly weeds and thorny bushes, mingled with
a couple pieces of abandoned lawn furniture. |
So we just whacked down what we could discern as weeds and stacked up the
furniture and other useful looking objects. |
Sherry supplied us with headlamps to help target our work. |
Bagging up the deadfall was a challenge. |
Odd treasures started to appear and we moved ever deeper into the back
reaches of their yard. |
Probing in the rakes the deadfall was scratched out and exposing more
curious shapes. |
Bowen lets the others know there lots more work to do under these
trees. |
The cleanup has almost caught up with him. |
The boys now focuses where Bowen is working. |
Found a watering can, and Oh, what's this? |
As part of the team gets more intrigued by what's under the
trees... |
The others tackle the one assigned task to tarp over a leaky
shed roof. Challenging when you weren't sure the structure could still
hold your body weight. |
We eventually managed to get it tarped without falling though. |
Meanwhile the boys with Bowen went investigating what looked
like a derelict bike. |
Its totally overgrown with branches and grass. Not sure this baby can be
hauled out of here. |
The team digs in to further asses the situation. |
It looks doable, just need to hack away this undergrowth. |
After significant reefing away on all the parts that could be grabbed
onto, a 10 speed bike emerges |
Do you think it's still rideable? |
Try getting the wheels to spin a bit. |
I think this baby is rideable. Lets take it for a spin down the back lane. |
Seems it can roll with you on it, no brakes though. |
They ride off into the moonset. |
Vintage bike eh!!!
All in a good night's work. |
