Nocturnal Yard Service - The Peterson's yard of treasures

September 30, 2020  (COVID days)

It's the end of the month and our evening activities seems to quickly plunge into darkness. But why would that stop a group of enthusiastic young men on a mission.  The pics may not be all that discernable, unless of course you were there, and your brain provides the missing contexts.

20200930_201841.jpg (4716601 bytes) There seems to be lots of prickly weeds and thorny bushes, mingled with a  couple pieces of abandoned lawn furniture. 20200930_201846.jpg (3851489 bytes) So we just whacked down what we could discern as weeds and stacked up the furniture and other useful looking objects.  20200930_201848.jpg (5004906 bytes) Sherry supplied us with headlamps to help target our work.  20200930_201852.jpg (3987832 bytes) Bagging up the deadfall was a challenge.
20200930_201903.jpg (4149534 bytes) Odd treasures started to appear and we moved ever deeper into the back reaches of their yard.  20200930_201910.jpg (3993930 bytes)  Probing in the rakes the deadfall was scratched out and exposing more curious shapes. 20200930_201914.jpg (4106948 bytes) Bowen lets the others know there lots more work to do under these trees.  20200930_201915.jpg (3107498 bytes) The cleanup has almost caught up with him.
20200930_202110.jpg (4495319 bytes) The boys now focuses where Bowen is working. 20200930_202114.jpg (4108761 bytes) Found a watering can, and Oh, what's this? As part of the team gets more intrigued by what's under the trees... The others tackle the one assigned task to tarp over a leaky shed roof. Challenging when you weren't sure the structure could still hold your body weight.
20200930_202616.jpg (4095852 bytes) We eventually managed to get it tarped without falling though.  Meanwhile the boys with Bowen went investigating what looked like a derelict bike. 20200930_202224.jpg (4419418 bytes) Its totally overgrown with branches and grass. Not sure this baby can be hauled out of here.  20200930_202234.jpg (4065367 bytes) The team digs in to further asses the situation.
20200930_202240.jpg (3783459 bytes) It looks doable, just need to hack away this undergrowth.  20200930_202419.jpg (8260899 bytes) After significant reefing away on all the parts that could be grabbed onto, a 10 speed bike emerges 20200930_202425.jpg (8960362 bytes) Do you think it's still rideable? 20200930_202427.jpg (7887219 bytes) Try getting the wheels to spin a bit.
20200930_202436.jpg (4723994 bytes) I think this baby is rideable. Lets take it for a spin down the back lane. 20200930_202523.jpg (3889343 bytes) Seems it can roll  with you on it, no brakes though. 20200930_202534.jpg (3953604 bytes) They ride off into the moonset. 20200930_203541.jpg (3078470 bytes) Vintage bike eh!!!
All in a good night's work.
